Is Montreal really a "Europe in America"?

Montreal is a pretty amazing city but I have never heard it called "Europe in America" Old Montreal has a building and on it is a painting of a bunch of people doing things and I have seen that 5 times and for the first few seconds I actually think its real. I have been in Manitoba, B.C, Quebec, and Alberta and I have not seen a city like Montreal anywhere else. Make sure you look around a lot because there is lots to see. Btw I wouldn't go to far out of Montreal if you don't speak french because people there are sometimes rude to you if you don't speak French. Montreal has a lot of English there though so if you don't speak French you'll be fine. Have fun on your trip!
