Dream interpretation please........................…

I had a dream that i was in a upstairs downstairs blue and white house and it was on a lake... A guy i was previously dating was there in the dream... First we were outside talking, and he seemed irked and irritated with me...so i went back in the house and shut the door... We shrugged and walked away... Or so i thought. I went upstairs and cried and then i was on the second story, looking out of the window behind a lace curtain gazing out onto the water in sorrow... In the dream i wasnt looking at him but he really didnt leave and was on the foot of my porch gazing up sadly at me... What is the symbolism of the house, lake? What do you think it could mean? We ended badly but i think of him everyday as much as i hate him sometimes... Thanks .
