Is it a waste to major in english?

Unless you're planning on getting a masters in education or pursuing a PhD in literature, majoring in English is really not worth it, especially in this economy. Writing can be something you do on the side as a hobby. If you do major in English, be prepared for a very tough road (financially speaking) ahead.
