Christians- What's the difference between a translation and an interpretation?

If I read a page of the Bible and don't understand it, I misinterpreted it or took it out of context... I'm just curious what the difference between a translation and interpretation is for Christians. What makes the guys who translated the Bible the only right ones? What makes your interpretation better than mine? (Sorry- there's no nice way to word that, not trying to cause trouble, just curious)
